Mather Campground, Grand Canyon National Park
It's always tricky camping in a National Park campground - you never know what you're gonna get. I, for instance, always assume I will be surrounded by a million people and it will be an extremely unpleasant experience. Fortunately, this was not the case with Mather Campground.
The Grand Canyon is obviously a very popular attraction. People come from all over the world to witness its grandeur, as they should. So you can imagine my surprise when I came to find that Mather Campground felt rather bare - like we were one of a few people there.
We weren't of course - I had booked the campsite months in advance as spaces were already filling up. But, the campground itself was very well laid out and if you have the mind to do a little research before you book, you can find a corner spot on a loop that gives you all the room you need :)
